About Us
Drees Farm, LLC is currently 461 acres focused mainly on producing sustainable wood products while protecting parts of the Current River watershed. Part of our farm is the first private property upstream from the beloved Rocky Falls public swimming hole in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. We cherish this natural wonder and the joy it brings people. Consequently, we work hard to be good stewards of the clean water that leaves our land and goes over Rocky Falls.
As an educational farm, we host camping guests and we have hosted many nature education groups for field trips and native plant identification classes. We use prescribed burns to maintain glade, woodland, fen, and grassland bird habitat.
Product Description
We produce 60 acres of hay, an orchard, but our main crop is timber trees. We have completed over 250 acres of timber stand improvement to reduce over-crowding of small but highly desirable wildlife trees such as serviceberry and larger crop trees.
Some of our "cull" trees get turned into firewood and delivered to guests at our rental campsite. Our campers learn about the Missouri Dept. of Agriculture‘s “Buy it where you burn it/don’t move firewood” program. Campers, and others, get to learn how we reduce tree density to ensure the forest is more drought and disease resistant.
Locations
Our rental electric campsite is located on Hwy. NN, just 0.1 mile east of Hwy H. It is the first pull-in on the left.
