In 2012, Bishop Gardens was founded on an empty city lot in Exeter, Missouri, to provide the most flavorful and healthy food possible to local consumers. Shon and Heather Bishop, together with Johnny and Nancy Bishop, currently own and operate the business which has grown to include two 30’x72’ high tunnels used for growing and selling strawberries and tomatoes. Bishop Gardens works with area FFA Chapters, Lincoln University Cooperative Extension, and the University of Missouri, to educate and encourage a more food secure community and develop interest in food production among future farmers.
