About Us

Established in 2013, the primary focus of Belleview Valley Apiary is hands-on beekeeping instruction for new beekeepers. We help those pursuing the craft in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to establish a sustainable apiary, one where winter losses are kept to a minimum and replacement colonies and increase are made from one's own stock. We keep bees at the Arcadia Academy for the purpose of teaching. It works great as lodging and meals for participants are available on site. One of our most popular sessions, “Is Beekeeping Right for You”, designed for the person who is considering the hobby, before investment is made in equipment or instruction. Belleview Valley Apiary is owned and operated by Gregg Hitchings, a certified Master Beekeeper through the University of Florida. Gregg has kept honey bees continually for over five decades.
