About Us

Double Hearts Ranch, at Mark Twain Lake, Monroe City, is a unique agri-tourism destination operated by Tom and Tamitha Ague. Blending outdoor recreation with wellness and education, it offers camping, equine-assisted learning, nature-based activities, and community events fostering personal growth and connection. Signature experiences such as Legend of the Donkey–Easter Story, tea & birthday parties, and leadership retreats. It also provides trauma-informed programs for individuals and groups, supporting self-growth and emotional wellness through equine interaction. At the ranch’s heart are the horses and donkeys—all are rescues or surrenders—each with a unique story of resilience and renewal. They offer the partnership in healing and meaningful opportunities for reflection and emotional connection during a session or visit. Whether it’s a hands-on activity, a reflective retreat, or spending time with the animals, guests experience healing, connection, and joy through equine bonding.

Product Description

At Double Hearts Ranch, we specialize in offering experiential, nature-based services rather than traditional agricultural products. Our unique offerings include equine-assisted learning programs, trauma-informed wellness sessions, and interactive Agri-tourism experiences that promote personal growth, emotional healing, and community connection. We care for rescued and surrendered horses and donkeys, each with a meaningful backstory that enhances our programs and sets us apart. Guests can also enjoy seasonal events, guided equine interactions, and on-site camping. Our focus is on cultivating healing and education through ethical animal care, land stewardship, and authentic rural experiences rooted in Missouri’s agricultural heritage.
