Heritage breeds; Red Wattle Hogs, Black Mottled Miniature Turkeys, Blue Swedish Ducks. We also care for 150 free-range laying hens who lay beautiful brown eggs. During the growing season, we provide "certified naturally grown" vegetables and herbs. During the Winter, we offer a very limited number of CSA Winter Shares. On our farm, we do not allow the use of growth hormones or antibiotics and do not feed GMO grains. During the farmer's market season, you can visit us at: Ellisville Farmer's Market, Thursdays, 4-7 pm and we always welcome visitors on farm, with an advance call.
We are a small farm located in the beautiful hills of Lincoln County, Missouri growing pork, turkey, eggs, edible flowers, herbs, perennials, and vegetables. On our property, we also have a limited supply of wild commodities: such as walnuts, persimmons, and wild plums-for which, we will entertain advance orders. Our farm is Certified Naturally Grown, growing without any pesticides or man-made chemicals on our gardens or pastures. We also free-range 150 Sexlink laying hens who are organically raised, and are strictly fed an organic, nutritous layer ration while being adamently guarded by our Great Pyrenees dogs. Our eggs are some of the very best that "locally grown" can provide in our territory, running extra large and double AA grade with good egg shells.
We offer our produce and eggs (both chicken and duck) throughout Lincoln, Pike, St. Charles and St. Louis Counties, and are presently taking reservations for 2012 season for Red Wattle market hogs and Black Mottled Miniature Turkeys. All our animals are pastured; Sexlink hens, Blue Swede ducks, Sebastopol geese, Black Mottled Miniature turkeys and Red Wattle hogs, all are fed an "organic certified" ration to supplement their foraging on 28 beautiful acres to fulfil their all their nutritional needs. Heathy, happy animals provide meat and eggs that are superior in taste and quality!
This year, we have started a limited Winter Community Supported Agriculture program with both eggs, herbs, and vegetables - so if you're a resident in Missouri somewhere - you may be enjoying the "home grown" taste from our farm. Please email us or call for more info. We welcome visitors, but please call ahead before stopping by - we would love to share our beliefs in growing organically for sustainability.
