About Us
Castor River Farms is a third generation farm in the Hunter family, located in the bootheel of Missouri.
Johnny Hunter converted the farm from traditional farming methods to cover crop farming. Our Motto: Healthy Soil, Healthy Food, Healthy People.
Castor has been growing rice for several decades and in January of 2018 opened their own rice mill. Now Castor River Farms is not only growing long grain rice but milling, and packaging rice on the farm.
Product Description
We produce some of the finest long grain white and brown rice. Our rice is grown in cover crop conditions, in a row rice formulation. No flood needed. Thus reducing the amount of irrigation needed to produce our rice.
Naturally nutrient packed soil through cover crop farming gives a healthy product Grown, Milled, and Packaged in Missouri, on the farm.
