About Us
In December of 1930, the directors of the Farmers Bank of Osborn(including H.J. Gross, W.F. Gross jr., and H.M. Findley) were unaware of the calamitous effects the Great Depression would have on their financial institution. This bank, which had been founded in 1906 with high hopes for success, would be shuttered by the Roosevelt Administration in 1933.
What was left of this crumbling edifice, was donated to the veterans of the World Wars by Mr. H.D. Cornish in 1945 to bcome the Lincoln-Anderson Post #169 of the American Legion.
The present building was constructed by the very men responsible for the freedom we currently enjoy. Their spirit will live on and their honor tresured within these walls forever.
This building how now become the home of the "Grindstone Valley Winery," and will simultaneously remain a meeting place for our heros.
We hope the wines we serve, made richer by the sweet soils of the Grindstone Valley, will make your visit to this hallowed hall ever more pleasant.
